• This Memorial Day: Remembering 4,700 Killed by US Drones

This Memorial Day, in addition to our own dead, we remember the 4,700 people (estimated; the actual body count is classified and/or unknown) killed by American drones. While some were terrible people, many were collateral damage, innocents murdered by accident and simply tossed into the ever-growing pile of horrors the United States has created through its fear and paranoia (some, such as Nobel Peace Prize recipient Obama, still insist on calling it self-defense.)

The drone death toll is subject to debate; the 4,700 number is from Senator Lindsey Graham, a happy proponent of drone killings. Other have placed the count as low as 1,700. Some use a higher number than Graham, including in the math military strikes in combat. We now know that whatever the total number, at least four of the dead were American Citizens murdered by their own government without due process in clear violation of the Constitution.

So here they are. Pick an X below and imagine a person. Then kill him. It is your right as an American.

    Happy Memorial Day.

I never agreed for my so called enemies to be killed “over there”. I’m not such a cowardly citizen. I want to fight them right here! I’ll wait for them in my neighborhood and they don’t have a chance. I know my “village” as well as they know their caves and trails. Americans are cowards in accepting the Pentagon bullshit that it is better to “fight them over there than in our own country”. We know that is a con by “Big Protection”- the Pentagon.

That’s four..we know of, and only because of investigative journalists. Who knows how many they’ve REALLY murdered. And this is only on Obutthead’s watch. Over the last 60 years, no telling how many people have been murdered at the USG’s bloody hands. Especially, in South and Central America, where the CIA bribed and coerced various despots to carry out murders by the thousands in order for the Corporatacracy to maintain it’s deathgrip on resources for profit.
Just search the youtube library and see for yourself.

I’m only a citizen, and I don’t know the truth about a lot of stuff the gov does, but I know one thing for sure. Public education serves to rewrite history, as you will NEVER see any of the truth regarding Government’s unlawfullness in a Public education school book. I tried to talk to a local schoolteacher a few weeks ago about this whole Murder by Drone program, and asked how this subject is delt with in her high school history class. She laughed. Drones? Never heard of them.
Fucking priceless. This subject will never enter the public school system…ever. Nor will the story of Bush/Obama’s victims of the Murder program. It will vanish as if it never existed.

Ok, I picked the first ten rows. Then I imagined the Bush administration being hanged enmasse. Bet you know what the next ten rows represent.

With Peter Van Buren’s permission, I want to remember THIS, as I am a great-great-grandson of an American soldier who was wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg:

I want all of Peter’s readers to know and remember, how in 2002-2007, several officers of the US Consulate in Yekaterinburg Russia, colluded with a Russian woman – a Russian “friend” of the US Consul in Yekaterinburg Russia – to cut off that Russian woman’s daughter (the daughter of an American by blood AND by law) from any contact between that Russian-born girl and her American Father.

What is most horrifying – and most illegal under US Federal law – is that some members of the US State Department have cut off that Russian-born gilr from her American Father WHILE making her a US Citizen based on the child’s American Father’s wishes….

…in other words, THIS story means that the US State Department is in the business of creating foreign-born “American citizens” with NO personal relations to any Americans. In other words, now the USA declares my biological daughter to be “American” WITHOUT ANY PERSONAL RELATION TO ANY AMERICAN!

And so, in sum, now in my daughter’s case, to be “American” means nothing more than DNA – which IS TERRBIBLY RACIST!…

…and yet it’s contrary to how OTHERS become “Americans”….

…and so, in sum, today the USA is totally insane, about whom the USA calls “Americans”! My Russian-born daughter is American now, but WHY? The reason WHY she is “American” is because her Russian mother has personal connections with the US State Department!

PS, as I am an Australian citizen (born in USA) I have nothing to lose by disclosing the following information:

In my above comment, I referred to my daughter Miranda (born in Russia in 2000) and her Russian mother Alla Onischenko, aka Alla Schlate, in Connecticut.

The latter, the Russian woman Alla Onischenko (aka Alla Schlate) brought herself and our daughter Miranda to America in 2006, several years after she started a secret affair in 2002 with an American woman’s husband, Jurgen Schlate. Jurgen Schlate’s wife of around 20 years, Cathy, discovered the affair in 2004 and then she finally divorced him in Dec 2005 after she tried and failed to persuade Jurgen’s Russian mistress Alla (my daughter’s mother) to leave her and Jurgen alone.

And so, today, my 12 year old daughter Miranda still does not know me – because the Russian Alla Onischenko “Schlate” has for many years been a personal friend of many members of the US Consulate in Yekaterinburg Russia – who have aided and abetted her, Alla Onischenko (Schlate) in adultery and home-wrecking (wrecking the the household and family of an American woman)…

…well there ya go, just for a start of how the US State Department has criminally colluded in destroying several American familes.

      Regards from,
John D Ball III (Esq, PA Bar ID 54978)

With all due respect, the State Department has colluded with other US Departments, such as the DOD, in destroying thousands of families across this planet. We Meant Well though.

      not.

The US Consulate in Yekaterinburg: Bringing adultery and homewrecking to American families since at least 2002! Cf Jurgen Schlate (recently deceased), Alla Onischenko, Dale Eppler, Scott Rauland, et al…

…all strenuously covered up. But maybe they want to get it out in the open now? Bring it on, we can start with some emails Jurgen’s wife discovered beginning in 2002 when he started f-cking the State Department’s special friend Alla in Russia behind his American wife’s back…

Just a suggestion to various members of the State Department: Maybe you should consider that using your official powers to do special personal favors for adulterous Russian women isn’t such a good idea?

Bravo and ditto. I do believe, at some point, there is going to be a tax revolt, simply because the USG is transferring the income of 20 future generations of taxpayers to the MIC/Financial Corporatacracy as I type. Hope and change. right. Fuck you Obomber, you lying piece of shit.

The drone program, if it continues, is going to increasingly undermine our most important goals. At the very least. At the very least. For anyone with their ethics switched on, it’s unjudicial killing and an unconstitutional hit-the-remote assassination plan that doesnt work probably most of the time. We dont know how many other innocent bystanders have been killed and we still have terrorism going on, such as a series of assassinations of center-minded politicians in Pakistan lately. It undermines our ability to speak out against assassinations by right wing terrorists when we are using the same tactics. How can any ‘moral’ or high ground be staked out?

It is not possible to be able to bomb and assassinate whenever, where ever, while at the same time upping or carrying out aid projects in the regions subjected to remote assassinations.

If the administration is trying to signal a softer image, please hit ‘pause’ and press the ‘reform’ and the ‘change-we-need-and-better-be-believable-cut-the-glib-political-discourse-thanks’ buttons too.

The drone program is an easy way out of a debate that no one is really rolling up their sleeves to consider real and needed solutions. Plus its making some companies very wealthy, emptying our country’s coffers.

It is announced that aid valued at $4 billion will be provided for the West Bank. It sounds nice but is such a gesture going to really offset regional animosity over the drone and other problem policies? When i say ‘regional’, this is meaning the Middle East, i havent included Central or southwest Asia. The aid package for the WB is not going to have any impact PR-wise there for what is perceived a distant, vague conflict. Something more creative would be needed for Pakistan but better hurry, given the spate of recent assassinations by the other side, not many moderate politicians will be left.

What good is such aid money, in this case for the West Bank, designed ostensibly in part to boost agriculture and trade for the West Bank when, hey, the products get stopped at the border, denied export and wind up rotting??

That’s a problem that requires policy and legal resolution, not $4billion more. If it doesnt get addresses, yes, it causes financial destitution and poverty and famine and hunger. But if you dont solve the legal and policy roots of the problem, more aid is just gonna be sucked down a deep, dark black hole. Is $4 more billion going to solve that? Maybe less aid would be needed if the taxes that were collected from Palestinians could be kept by them, used locally? And did anyone forget Gaza? The State Department has gone into the fray many times and brokered peace deals and development programs that are constantly undermined by bad policies from elsewhere. Why cant we implement any of these arrangements? Why do we keep repeating our actions?

It’s a nice PR effort, sounds good, yay someone is thinking about one of the main problems of the mid east from a regional standpoint, but sounds like desperation on our side to counteract the bad policies like the drone and other ‘anti-terrorism’ policies that seemed to have either not stopped terrorism or may have spurred it while resentment toward our country’s actions deepens. We reap what we sow. I am going to use that word again, we need ethics injected into our policies including those overseas. We need real actions that take into consideration how we and yes, people at the other end of the spectrum are affected. We dont live in a vacuum. No more droning on with vapid political rhetoric and outsourcing assassination

@ MLCT, what you described is not surprising. A system is functional as long as the people that make it up are functional. There are efforts inside State to try to reform how the foreign service operates. There’s a problem with connections and protectionism among the mindset of some members, so it is very hard addressing real problems. It’s like that FSO in the McClatchy article. How long had that been going on? HOw is it he is able to go into the Navy and at 41? Isnt that past the age? There are alot of decent members, but the system protects too much those without ethics. Whether you are discussing drones or people issuing visas to people who have no business receiving a visa, it all ties to problem of weak or no ethics pervading a system

      PVB,
Since it’s Mem Day i think of the world since 1914.
My maternal grandmothers 1st husband was killed in 1914. We as a family came to America in 1917 to escape European wars. Concurrently the US fought it’s war to make the world free for democracy. Now less than a 100 years later we fight to place war lords and thugs and drug lords in charge of Afgh and we call this freedom and democracy.
Almost a century has elapsed and my country will not give peace a chance.

      YEP- Happy Memorial Day.

OK- my opening statement has been ignored. We are a cowardly nation. We should be announcing to the world that we are withdrawing all our troops, closing our bases and we-all of us-will be defending the “homeland” right where it is-not in some forward operating base. No need for drones, no need to pay off the Taliban to make sure our precious petrol for our guzzling tanks makes it to “the front” via one of the “…stans”. Each citizen will defend the homeland where they are. No more sending clueless idiot “volunteers” overseas to be killed or crippled. We are strong! We will face the enemy right here! We have no need to send an underclass to do the work that each American proudly can do on his own. Let the Taliban try and invade Kentucky. They’ll end up being roasted on an open fire! Enough, John Poole (yep, that’s my real name)
