• Handy Quiz for Intervening in Syria

As a public service to Obama and his spanking-new National Security Advisor Susan Rice (Rice’s autobiography should be titled Failing Upward by Sucking Upward), here is a handy checklist to consult before deciding to intervene further in Syria.

Is it Iraq again? That went well.

    Does it have oil?

Does it pose a direct threat to America, i.e., knife to our throat?

Can you define specifically what U.S. interests are at stake (no fair just citing generic “world peace” or “evil dictator”)?

Is Syria’s evil dictator somehow super-worse than the many other evil dictators scattered across the world where the U.S. is not intervening?

Did Syria attack any U.S. forces somewhere? Kidnap Americans? Commit 9/11?

Does the U.S. have a specific, detailed follow-on plan for what happens if Assad departs?

Does the U.S. have a specific plan to ensure weapons given to the rebels, some of whom are openly al Qaeda, won’t migrate out of Syria as they did in Libya?

Does the U.S. believe its secret deal with the rebels to hand over Syria’s chemical weapons after they take power is airtight?

Can the U.S. tell with accuracy the “good” rebels from the “bad” rebels?

Has the U.S. considered in detail what affect a rebel (Sunni) victory in Syria will have on chaotic Iraq next door?

Why are Syria’s chemical weapon so different than say North Korea’s or anyone else’s that intervention is a good idea?

    Extra Credit Questions

If the U.S. is regime-changing in Syria, why does the U.S. still diplomatically recognize the Syrian government? Discuss.

Why did the U.S. render prisoners to Syria for torture by Assad just a few years ago but now thinks he is an evil dictator? Discuss.

Since the American electorate overwhelmingly chose Obama over McCain in 2008, why is Obama acting more like McCain every day? Discuss.

Exactly why, after Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and drone wars everywhere, does the U.S. need to get sucked in to yet another Middle East quagmire? Discuss.

Obama and Rice, if the answer was “No” to any of the above questions, you should not intervene in Syria.

Bonus: The blogging software I use for this site requires “tags” be created to mark posts for searches. When I first started, the only country tag I needed was “Iraq.” Since then I have had to add Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Iran, multiple African nations and now Syria as places America is openly at war.

Certainly an intervention is needed to stop US from satisfying our addictive need for killing and pathological lying. Exit counseling is long overdue.

I do believe Syria after 911 provide the former middle east cia station chief with the names and locations of all Al cell in Europe. He provide it to European countries before giving to the criminal bush the lesser squad and they were mad as hell about that. I can no longer find the link for that.

The good news about Rice’s appointment is that she’ll accelerate the self-destruction of the American Empire.

I mean putting Rice in that position is like hiring a chain-smoker on meth to be a gas station attendant.

love how the Washington Post PA team, sorry i mean ‘journalists’, are presenting Rice’s appointment as a turn toward a more ‘actiist’ policy. somebody mentioned meth?? Well, the layoffs at the Post must have gotten ridden of any journalist who can remember ‘Bosnia, Serbia, and Croatia’ at the Post.

On the plus side, a DoL employee, Bob Whitmore, won a settlement as a whistleblower at the DoL because he stated DoL allowed American companies to underreport workers’ injuries on the job.

Is that a hallmark of retaliation cases to tell employees as part of a settlement they must agree not to apply for jobs for X years in the government? Love how agencies stop issuing projects — at the same time trying to build a case the civil servant was ‘negligent’ at their job. Is that another hallmark of retaliation? Sheesh

      Whitmore’s response is great:

“As part of the settlement, Whitmore, age 66, agreed not to apply for any Department of Labor position during the next fifteen years,” said a PEER statement, “and if he does ‘he will be deemed automatically ineligible for such position.’ ”

Whitmore’s reacton: “I can’t wait until I’m 81 years old and go back to work,” he said in a telephone interview. “I’m sure the system will be in the same sorry-ass shape that it is today.”

      well sooprise sooprise sooprise…not.

As you probably have already heard, Bill Binney was dead on. As head of the NSA before he quit, he gave an interview about the NSA and it’s new facility in Utah, the Ministry of Truth, and the Surveillance State.

Folks, it’s blindingly obvious now, this government has lost it’s legitimacy. They know it. You know it. I know it.
Given the monumental hubris of these psychopaths, it’s only a matter of time until they step over the 2nd Amendment line in the sand. And that’s it. Coming soon..mark my words. These fucking tyrants will stop at nothing now. They’re already training their militarized sycophant zombies to view citizens as the enemy. All it’s gonna take is another big FBI false flag event, and gun confiscation will begin, which in pro-gun rights groups, is a no brainer. Time to prepare for the inevitable.

Oh, the sheer irony when the Patriot Act is used to take down the Tea Party patriots who couldn’t be troubled when the Bushies were the ones spying on US. Obama’s DOJ prosecutes one FBI entrapment case involving a Tea Party group and then the only light these “terrorists” see will be through a PRISM. Better get those FEMA concentration camps ready.

Mr Bauer wrote: “Oh, the sheer irony when…(etc)”

No, it’s far beyond irony now. Irony is a subtle way of expressing the opposite of what is intended. But the self-contradictions of today’s American Empire are not subtle at all.

Thus, what you ought to have written should have been: “Oh, the sheer falsehood when…(etc)”

And of course, the insinuation that Susan Rice is a lesbian, cannot be considered defamatory by the State Department, since the State Department officially celebrates lesbianism.

And the White House officially endorses lesbianism too, so that base is covered too. No lawsuits for defamation here. Susan Rice is a lesbian, HOORAY!

Oh yeah, Rich Bauer… let’s hope that after your wet dream happens and Tea Party supporters are illegally framed for Federal crimes because they are political enemies of the President, that your MOTHER gets slammed for smuggling dope for nine months. THAT has the virtue of being a valid accusation.
