Target Stores Target Unions
As part of my research into the New Economy for my book, Ghosts of Tom Joad, A Story of the #99Percent, I worked a series of minimum wage jobs, as now do so many Americans. The work is long and hard, socially demeaning, and damn unlikely to give one a decent life worth living; twenty-eight percent of American workers earned less than the poverty line.
With that background in mind, this video is almost unbelievable: an anti-union Target “training” video that claims unions are actually only a business which makes money by charging dues and fees as their “product.” They say that anything a union used to do is now already in the law, so unions serve no purpose but to lower your wages through fees. It gets worse– have a look at the actual video and be scared…
BONUS: Target also uses whacky racist training documents (“Mexicans – lower education level, some may be undocumented”).

1One would think with all the money Bullet-Target saved by fucking its workers, they could afford a better IT system to protect their customers credit cards. Target’s motto: FUCK YOU ALL. It’s as good as Google’s: DO KNOW EVIL.

I wouldn’t own an Apple product if my life depended on it. The working conditions in the main supplier factorys that build everything Apple sells are truly based on slave labor. Apple should be banned from this country. Of course..then we’d have to ban WALMART too. But this is exactly why the ruling class are getting richer. Exporting jobs to SLAVE camp countries like China. THAT is what should be banned. If companies want to remain American..and sell in America..they should be required to HIRE American ONLY. After all, once the entire population is jobless..WHO is going to buy their products in America? Sounds like the Big Bang of Stupidity to me.

8I mean, that woman just does NOT look like a typical big-box-store greeter. Looks more like a 30 year old aspiring actress who has begun to realise she won’t be the next Halle Berry, so she sold her soul to Target. I wonder how much they paid her for this one-off deal?
As for the male narrator, abstractly handsome in a denatured Hilter Youth Poster way, now greying at the temples and softening around his waist so he’s too old to be a rent boy – he looks like his story is similar to hers. A failed actor, selling what remains of his image to Target for perhaps a few thousand dollars on a one-shot deal before he has to become a professional Greeter.

I do love the pull-no-punches demeanor of our crowd. The intent is not to flagellate, but to suss out the truth. Advertising is a bright, shiny lie, and a business as dirty as Murdoch news reportage, which is to say, most domestic reportage today, sadly.
We spoke recently with a Buddhist Vietnamese restaurateur re. the recent jailings of peaceful protesters in his country who were protesting 12-hr. days with no breaks, at $125.mo.
He allowed that this was a good salary, but they are now effectively silenced by our good trading partner and major underwear supplier, the Communist-capitalist Republic of VN.
Some VN have brought their appeals to President Obama, but I don’t believe THAT will make the evening news.

11The book is good for its time, but now 20 some years out of date. So much more of the middle class has been drawn into the minimum wage world. Her book is also perhaps too much about her; I’d like to have seen her enlarge the picture a bit.

12I just scanned the beg. of vid and the black actress is named “Maria”, thence co-opting interests of the Latino community, AND she’s got a slightly Detroit-cum-Bronx accent, and so gaining those street creds.
The guy is every middle American man, sans the gut, and his earnestness stems from the thought that he is not actually one of those poor sots who might need a union.
He believes that what’s good for Target is good for him … and he believes that “WE” can win the battle against those idiot unions.

Going on her most recent (Living With a Wild God), I can get that narcissism. As she’s a scientist first, I’d probably go for somewhere on the autism spectrum … high-functioning, like an Aspergers. (She does mention she has a hard time connecting to others.)

T tried to google the connection between Bain Capital and Target and found no link,BUT wasn’t Target one of M.Romneys bragging points and area of brag?
If this is correct then their corporate stand /anti unionisn is perfectly in accord.
A side line of my search showed me one unrelated fact. Those Romneys sure know how to breed.
