Yo, New York! I am excited that Book Culture, New York’s coolest independent bookstore, will host me for an evening of conversation in connection with my new book, Ghosts of Tom Joad: A Story of the #99Percent.

The event is Tuesday, June 10, from 7:00 pm, at 536 West 112th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam, 212-865-1588. Nearest subway is the 1 Train to Cathedral Parkway. The store is across the street from the “Seinfeld Diner” and close to Columbia.

Everyone is welcome and there is no charge. There will be a Q&A session where we can talk about the new book, the old book (We Meant Well: How I Helped Lose the Battle for the Hearts and Minds of the Iraqi People) and/or my experiences being run out of my former career with the Department of State because I wrote about their waste and mismanagement of the Iraq War reconstruction.

Since this will be my first chance to speak in New York, please come join me at Book Culture!

Ask the audience in the belly of the beast the difference between the Wall Street crowd and a rat:

May I suggest a title for your next book? How about, “Is EVERYBODY in the US Fucking Incompetent?” Reading the daily news about the idiots in the CIA, NSA, State etc, I was hoping the incompetence was limited to those who could not get a real job in the private sector. My experiences with the private sector make me think otherwise. Should not be surprised as the highest paying jobs in the US belong to the idiots on Wall Street who ruined the economy in 2008; they reportedly did not realize the damage their fraudulent business schemes caused. I was going to recommend you title it “IDIOCRACY” but apparently that “fictional” title has already been taken.

Peter- Hillary Rodham Clinton is not only looking very similar to the infamous, “Only little people pay taxes”, greedy, out- of -touch multi/multi millionaire Leona Helmsley she’s beginning to sound like Helmsley. Something in the NY air?

      “In case anyone asks:…”
      (from the link..)

quote”The U.S. spent upwards of $1 trillion in Iraq between 2003 and 2011, and 4,486 American men and women in uniform died there.

All that blood and treasure: For what?

That is a question many Americans might well ask as they watch Iraq slide deeper into chaos every day.”unquote

Meanwhile, the DCOTP is still asking…

For what indeed. Cheney’s et al retirement fund.

ps..Speaking of questions..How’d the evening of conversation go Peter? I’d love to attend one of these. Unfortunately, I can’t drive that far.

Hey, maybe someday you can give a lecture at Patty’s Pharmacy.. in good ole downtown Baldwin Michigan. I’m sure you would pack the place. It’s the local “cultural” hangout for everyone in the know. Especially if you come the second weekend in May. Don’t blink though..you might miss it. It’s right next door to Jones Homemade Icecream.

Speaking of cultural hang outs, of course, you could have spontaneous conversations with some of the other visitors. I’m confident you’d be well received…

Better yet, on stage. You’ll have a built in crowd. Wear you leathers and ride a Harley and you’ll be a hit.

Speaking of the Dumbest Country On The Planet.. here’s living proof.

(insert double facepalm and rolling eyes smiley here)

When McGurk was on the roof of Embassy Baggag, he wasn’t jerking off. He was estimating how many helicopters could land there to evacuate the staff.
