• Let’s Watch U.S. Government *ss Clowns Spend Your Money on Pakistani Dancing Videos

This one’s a double play: the U.S. government is wasting your tax money on stupid videos while at the same time no doubt angering the very people they are somehow trying to impress.

So the video above was made, using your tax dollars and on official government time, by the Public Diplomacy staff at the American Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan. As you can see, a Pakistani traditional dancer was hired, and alongside him were placed various overweight American State Department officials to act like *ssclowns.

See, they can’t do the dance right, so it’s a funny! It’s on YouTube! It’s groovy social media! And it has all of 380 hits!

The saddest part is that the stated mission of Public Diplomacy staff abroad is to enhance America’s image, make us some friends, that hearts and minds stuff. So it is only in a parallel universe that the staff could imagine the video above could be helping with any of those goals. Indeed, in many parts of the world, fat American’s mocking a local tradition is not seen as funny at all, but actually as a serious insult.

Oh yeah, the Taliban are like a big problem in Pakistan and they are no doubt seriously in favor of the Americans creating their propaganda videos for them.

Maybe not in Pakistan. Maybe the Pakistanis have a wacky sense of humor roughly the same as a 28-year-old ex-sorority member now employed by the State Department who cannot conceive of how a skit that went over so well during senior year Rush Week would fail overseas.

FUN FACT: Foreign governments with offices in the U.S. do not seem to make these kinds of videos. They seem almost exclusively, uniquely, the product of American diplomacy.

“Foreign governments with offices in the U.S. do not seem to make these kinds of videos. They seem almost exclusively, uniquely, the product of American diplomacy.”

Yeah, well what kind of videos could they make that would show unity with the American people, or diplomatic outreach and solidarity with the US? Videos of foreign diplomatic staff in the US participating in a Most Food Eaten in 30 Minutes Contest? (I think there is actually a whole tv show based on this concept.) Or maybe they could attend a Monster Truck Rally. (“Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! See The RoadMeister versus the HogMan in a one-on-one matchup!”)

Hey, I can’t find diplomatic solidarity with most Americans and I fucking live here.

McGurk was standing still. It was his kneeling partner doing all the dancing-work.

The video is symbolic of the State Dept. lack of knowledge in the region; they don’t realize they are dancing in a minefield:

      Off-topic:

Shit. Yesterday, the US bombed the Syrian military, killing 100 (latest count) and wounding another 100. At the same time, Israel attacked the Syrian forces from the Golan Heights, in response to an al Qaeda signal that they (al Qaeda) needed help. Immediately afterwards, ISIS launched an offensive. The ISIS attackers seem to have been stopped for now by the Russians, who went after the actual bad guys and told the US to stop bombing the Syrian forces. The US and Israel not only broke the cease-fire, we went after the Syrian military and aided ISIS. The US claims it was an “accident”. (After spending days collecting data about which troops were where, we somehow didn’t seem to know jack shit. Or rather, we knew, and went after Syria’s governmental forces on purpose, but are now trying to pretend our intelligence people really ARE just that stupid.) Russia called an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council last night, asking the US to explain itself for this act of war, and accusing the US of aiding ISIS.

Obama did not go to the UN council meeting last night. He did not talk about this at all. Last night, he went to a campaign event for Hillary the War-Pig, where he told black people he would be personally insulted if they didn’t vote for her.

      US media quiet on this.

Next thing you know the US will claim this was caused by “mis-commuications”. Just like the DWB hospital attack bullshit. On the other hand, I was under the impression the Syrian army AND ISIS were both the enemy????? So what if we killed Syrian soldiers. Isn’t Assad the bad guy too????

Sheeezus. this is more confusing than All My Children.

As for the “dancing” thing. Hahahahahahaha. That’s the most moronic thing I’ve seen in a decade. Don’t these DOS morons ever get tired of looking like complete, halfwitted buffoons? Well..I guess some people will do anything for a big paycheck. Some will even incinerate children from a drone control bunker 10k miles away. The only difference is the …these computer pilots LIKE IT.

Gosh, Teri, think of the possibilities — foreign dips helping cops beat up Black people, buying assault rifles, pepper spraying people they don’t agree with, doubling their BMI during a US assignment, or maybe just twerking.

OK, gotta break up this circle j…. Let’s get real about race. Obama says he’s black. He has a white momma and a black dad yet he calls himself black. That is incredibly racist!
Why doesn’t he refer to himself as a mixed race guy?
So it you are a mix of white and black you are automatically black- yeah I know about that “one drop…..” thingee. But it is pure racism to decide to identify with only one aspect of one’s blend.

      Pitch,
“On the other hand, I was under the impression the Syrian army AND ISIS were both the enemy?????”

Well, we do indeed want to get rid of al Assad, his army, his country and every Syrian down to the last man, woman and child who might stand in the way of that fucking pipeline we want. Technically and legally, however, we are not at war with Syria and have no right to be in (or flying over) that country; technically, we are “at war” with ISIS. We can’t, and haven’t, legally declare(d) war on Syria because, sadly, they haven’t actually ever threatened us and people keep finding out that Assad hasn’t done any of the horrible things to his own people that we accuse him of. Technically, we are supposed to be letting Assad fight the rebel groups we fund and arm to take him out by proxy (al Nusra Front, FSA, ISIS, al Qaeda….shhh, don’t tell anyone we are arming those last two or that al Nusra Front keeps joining up with ISIS – nobody knows this. Yuge secret.). Technically, we are not invading Syrian space and technically, while we hate Assad, we are neither attacking him nor getting in his way while he tries to do something about the civil war we brought into his country. What we just did, was we broke those technical niceties that were holding us back from direct confrontation with Syria and committed an illegal act of war of aggression and invasion. Which, by happenstance, aided the one group who is supposed to be World Enemy Number One (ISIS). Oh, and pissed off the Russians, who are really fighting ISIS and who are the only outside country legally involved in Syria.

Technically, but also not legally, we are only at war with ISIS, who seem to keep coming into Syria and other ME countries, but whom we can’t seem to find to bomb in any country, even given spy satellites, a gazillion intelligence agents, the best military in the world (heh), high-powered flashlights, and GoogleMaps.

We are apparently not at war with al Qaeda any more, despite the fact that they are the group who [supposedly] hit us on 9/11 and who are, technically, the only group the AUMF covers.

      Does that help?

      Peter,
      “…or maybe just twerking”.

Hey, maybe we could hold diplomatic circle twerks. DCTs, for short. One thing about the Clintons getting back into the WH – I hear they are real good at circle twerks.
      LOL.

      (Sorry. It slipped out.)

We, the U.S., kills Syrians killing Isis. Sounds like we need to kill to keep the economy going, hoping to get oil and gas afterwards. Jobs. Pigs.
