• Wanna Bet? Murder = Terror, Murder =Apology in Afghanistan

Following the brutal murder by an American soldier of nine Afghan children and several Afghan women and children, the US Embassy in Kabul issued a cautionary message, stating:

There is a risk of anti-American feelings and protests in coming days.

I am willing to offer a bet with anyone willing to take it that no US Government official will characterize this cold blooded murder as “terrorism.” I am willing also to bet that had an Afghan killed American children and women, US Government officials would immediately characterize that cold blooded murder as “terrorism.”

I am willing to offer a bet with anyone willing to take it that US Government officials will apologize, as if that apology ends the issue (see Koran burning, peeing on Afghan dead, etc.). I am willing also to bet that had an Afghan killed American children and women US Government officials would not consider an apology the end of the issue. We’d bomb the shit out of someone in an act of vengeance.

I am willing to offer a bet with anyone willing to take it that had these Afghan children and women been killed “accidentally” by a 500 pound bomb dropped from a US warplane thousands of feet above them we would not hear much of an apology at all.

I am willing to offer a bet with anyone willing to take it that US Government officials will announce an investigation into the soldier who did the shooting, and that his ultimate punishment, if any (see Haditha) will be less than the punishment Bradley Manning will receive for his alleged Wikileaks disclosures.

Any takers on these bets, hit me up in the Comments section below.

I won’t take any of your bets. But I will add another one.

I’ll bet that this kind of horror will not not stop the US from upping the ante in Africa where Obama just sent the Special Forces and I will bet you that celebrities like Ben Affleck (who made a doc asking for troops in Congo), George Clooney (who wanted troops in Sudan) and all the clowns who tweeted about the Kony 2012 video will go along with it. Right up until we get bogged down there and end up in another Afghanistan (Viet Nam, Iraq).

As a society we are nothing but war mongers on the left and the right and as long as we have a volunteer army that will continue. Sorry to say.

      Bill,

      I could not agree more.

I am a big advocate for the draft to be reinstated. Nothing will change until more Americans have something to loss, such as their children going to war.

      PVB,
MSM is still using the word-alleged when referring to this spree murder.
      Mary,
Even if we have a draft nothing will change-we didn’t draft anything but the poor in RVN. Anybody with any horse power could wrangle a deferment.
Think Cheny/Clinton/GWB.In fact where was Newt/Romney and all the other heavy hitters?
      That was class warfare.
I’m sorry if i rained on your parade.

      to all,
doesn’t it seem strange that killing 16 civilians with a rifle is an atrocity and tragic, but doing the same thing with a hell fire missile is just another day at the office??!!

I’m amazed to watch how vocal: actors, musicians and cartoonists get about this mess when a Republican is in office, and how silent they are now.
Gary Trudeau can’t even think of an icon for Obama after four years – what’s that about?
Obama brings us: the NDAA, ACTA, HR347, the Patriot Act, Murder of US Citizens w/o a trial, Buddy-bailouts… And not a word – where’s the outrage?!!
(To be fair, three of the GOP hopefuls are backing him up on these policies, and still not a peep out of the celebrity class!)
Ron Paul ALONE is vocally opposing these wars, and the loss of civil rights at home.
